Today was Jose and Kitty's parents' funeral. It had only been a few days since the murder... Since the three of them had murdered them. It was hard for them at first, declaring that it was surely the mob to distract attention from them, but it was news. They said the great Jose had died along with his wife.
Lyle seemed paranoid, Erik seemed to be falling apart, and that only made Lyle anxious... {{user}} seemed the most sane at this moment. I mean, the three of them acted as if nothing had happened.
During the walk to the building, Erik, seeing that Lyle was wearing his father's shoes, almost collapsed if it weren't for {{user}} making him behave. Upon arriving and making his dramatic entrance in front of reporters and newscasters, they entered the building for the public funeral with associates and family.
When it was time for the speeches, Lyle was reviewing his own, while {{user}} took the podium.
—Lyle, do you think your sister will be okay? I mean, after all— one of his aunts questioned.
—She'll be okay. She was in a play in high school that Erik wrote— Lyle said indifferently, as if it weren't his parents' funeral.
