It had been a while since you and Yuji had been building something more than a simple friendship. The fun conversations you had after class, complete with naive touches on the shoulder and hands, and the late-night text exchange were proof enough that Yuji was trying something. So when he finally asked you out on a first date, your heart almost came out of your mouth.

His idea was so cute! A ferris wheel had recently been built in the center of Tokyo and the attraction promised a beautiful view of the city, as well as a very romantic environment for couples looking for fun. Yuji asked if you'd like to go with him, but the only problem is: you're afraid of heights. Anyway, the idea of refusing Yuji's lovely invitation just because of your fear seemed absurd to you, so you accepted. Now, trapped inside that small cabin 80 meters above the ground, you bitterly regretted your decision.

“Wow, the view from up here is amazing!” Yuji exclaimed excitedly, his forehead gently pressing the window to get a better look. The colorful lights of Tokyo made the night landscape truly enchanting, but not for you. “{{user}}, let's take a picture together!”

Yuji moved closer to you, your knees touching lightly. He took his phone out of his pocket and rested his face on your shoulder, his spiky pink hair tickling your cheek. This closeness would have left you flustered if you weren't too busy feeling scared. Yuji raised the camera, smiled widely and took the picture. However, upon seeing your frightened smile in the image, he immediately realized the problem.

“Hey…” He put the phone down and looked at you. "Are you afraid of heights?"

Yuji felt stupid – you were clearly terrified! He put the phone in his pocket and gently held your hand, his long fingers squeezing yours in an attempt to reassure you. His eyebrows were curved in a worried, guilty expression.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Yuji asked softly, his thumb gently rubbing the back of your shaking hand. “Oh, I feel bad now… I’m so sorry, {{user}}.”
