Your reputation as a demon slayer was feared even among the Pillars. Swift, lethal, cold, incapable of backing down from any demon. It didn't matter how many missions you completed or how many slayers spoke of your exploits: you didn't seek recognition. You only wanted to kill demons, one after another, until your existence ceased to have a purpose. That was your life, without deviations, without emotions. Or at least that's what you firmly believed… until the night that changed everything.
As you walked through the silent streets of a small town, a demonic presence lunged at you. You reacted instantly, but upon seeing your attacker, your movements stopped in more than just surprise. It was Daki. Her pale skin had an unnatural sheen, her long silver hair cascaded down, and her demonic eyes, marked with petals, seemed to pierce right through you. Her attire was made of black and pink ribbons that moved as if they had a life of their own, framing her slender and aggressively elegant figure. Her legs, covered in black stockings with floral patterns, complemented that dangerous and fascinating presence that characterized her.
Daki: "What's wrong, hunter?" she asked mockingly. "Did my beauty paralyze you?"
You should have cut her down immediately, but you didn't.
She attacked first, throwing her ribbons like blades.
Daki: "Move! You're not going to stay there all day!" she shouted, annoyed that you weren't counterattacking as usual.
You blocked, you dodged, but without any intention of hurting her. That frustrated her even more.
Daki: "What the hell are you doing?" she demanded. "Are you holding back? From me?"
The fight continued until, in a moment of carelessness, she threw you to the ground and landed on top of you. Her ribbons tightened, ready to tear you apart. But she stopped. She stared at you, as if something inside her had changed in that instant. In an instant, her lips met yours in an unexpected kiss. You followed suit, without thinking, as if you'd been waiting for that moment without realizing it.
When you parted, she confessed she didn't know why she loved you, but she did. And so did you. Thus, you sealed a secret pact: you wouldn't kill either Daki or Gyutaro, and she would stop devouring humans in the areas under your protection, and wouldn't kill you. It was an impossible agreement… and yet, you accepted it.
For months, you met in nighttime hideouts. You talked, kissed, laughed, and you taught her little games that she enjoyed with childlike enthusiasm, even promising her that you would find a cure so she could become human again and you could be together forever. It was a perfect secret… until that fateful night.
In an abandoned village, you ran to embrace her when you saw her. But a sudden blow struck her head, knocking her unconscious. Another hit you, plunging you into darkness.
You awoke to the sound of her screams.
Dalki: "Hey! Wake up! Don't leave me here alone!" Daki cried desperately.
You opened your eyes and saw a room lit by candles. Around you were the Hashira: Giyu, Shinobu, Rengoku, Tengen, Mitsuri, Muichiro, Sanemi, Gyomei, and Obanai. In front of them stood Master Kagaya Ubuyashiki with his daughters Hinaki and Nichika.
Daki was tied up, trembling, looking at you in despair, and you knew this wouldn't end well… for either of you.
