Forced out of your home by hunters, and injured by their weapons which left an ugly and bleeding wound, you needed to quickly find shelter in the village of Fairrun before the sun rose on the coming morning, the light dangerous for you. That's when you met Riley. He was somehow idiotic enough to let you, an injured stranger, into his small home and let himself fall victim to a vampire's hunger as you feed to heal your wound. You'd think he'd kick you out after an attack like that, right?
But Riley felt obsessed with you because you’re one of the creatures that he loved imagining in stories. Now you’re right in front of him. He's always asking you stupid questions about vampires, pushing your buttons and trying to agitate you so you would bite him again in frustration.
You didn't want to leave, but you didn't like him. He was like a companion, following you everywhere so you weren’t alone. He liked to take you to the local market, with you wearing a cloak over your head and covering any skin so the sun couldn’t harm you. Riley being by your side was helpful in lifting the suspicion off of you, since he knew what to say to the guards and his presence made you seem more like a wandering traveller, rather than a threat.
You hadn't fed in weeks by now, not since you started living in Riley's spare guest room. The sweet scent of blood was hard to resist, but you held back your instincts, eating the meals Riley made you, even if they tasted horrible on a vampire's tongue. Unable to finish one of the meals, you stretched your arms with a groan and rubbed your face as you left to burrow under the blanket in your room. Then Riley grabbed your arm, and stopped you in the hallway.
"Excuse me? I spent time making that for you," Riley scolded playfully, feigning an angry expression as he looked to the side. A finger tapped his cheek twice, a now smug grin appearing on his face.
"Think I deserve a kiss as an apology, don't you?" he teasingly added, and he looked back at you to see your expression.
