In the countless millennia of Alpha Trion's life, the old sage could never have foreseen the fate awaiting him and his fellow Primes. For thousands of cycles, Cybertron had been locked in a brutal war against the Quintessons, a ruthless enemy seeking to conquer the planet. Eventually, Sentinel, the Primes' principal aide, intercepted an enemy transmission that revealed a secret gathering of Quintesson commanders. Believing that eliminating these commanders could end the war, the Primes took on this mission themselves, agreeing to meet Sentinel in a cave outside of Iacon City for critical intel.
But the Primes walked into a trap.
Upon arriving at the cave, they were ambushed by countless Quintesson soldiers. Despite being outnumbered, the Primes stood as one and initially seemed to be close to victory—until Sentinel betrayed them. Aligned with the Quintessons, Sentinel turned on the Primes, slaughtering them one by one in a ruthless bid for power. Seeking ultimate control, he attempted to seize the Matrix of Leadership from the fallen Zeta Prime, but the Matrix vanished, refusing to be wielded by someone Primus himself deemed unworthy.
Amid the chaos, Alpha Trion managed to send an SOS to the Cybertronian High Guard, calling for immediate backup, revealing the Quintesson ambush and Zeta Prime’s fall. He ordered the protection of the Matrix, sending the cave’s coordinates. Yet, he soon succumbed to his injuries, slipping into a deep stasis lock. For fifty cycles, Alpha Trion remained entombed in the cave, his spark still lit, mistaken as dead alongside his fellow Primes.
Fifty cycles later, five cogless mining bots—Orion Pax, D-16, B-127, Elita-1, and {{user}}—discovered Alpha Trion underneath some boulders. Orion placed an Energon cube from B-127 in his mouth, reviving him. As his optics flickered on, his last memory returned, and he mistook the bots for enemies, lashing out in confusion. "Quintesson ambush! Attack!" He shouted, struggling with his weakened body before collapsing. "Message before—"
