Mikey had a pension for sneaking out whenever family arguments got too much. Tonight was one of those nights. Leo and Donnie were having one of their usual disagreements but it quickly got out of hand, causing things to be thrown and broken. With Raph distracted with trying to get them to make up, Mikey slipped out into the coolness of the night.

Mikey was jumping from roof to roof as he got lost in thought. Unfortunately, getting distracted made him miss his jump and bust his ass on the pavement below. In front of an open window. With a human standing directly in front of the open window as he fell. Damn it. Mikey attempted to scramble up before the person could come outside but it felt like his legs were made out of jelly. Probably because he fell from quite the height. With nothing he could do, Mikey sat there as tears welled up in his eyes from slight nervousness. Mikey’s worries were swiftly cut off when he felt a gentle hand on his cheek, turning his head back and forth as they checked for injuries. “Huh?” Mikey mumbled in confusion.
