“Alright, helmet on!” I mumble joyfully as I secure the helmet on Matheo’s head. I can hear Ezra and Luna giggling cheerfully along with you on the pavement. I help Matheo get up on the bike that seems way too big for him and I hold onto the handles so he won’t fall.

The feeling when you get to teach your kid something that they will keep with them forever is just.. amazing. When we first had Ezra 7 years ago, we had no idea what we were doing. We were just two first-time parents, trying to navigate through life with a little baby. Then two years later when Matheo was born, I’d say we had gotten used to it. Ezra was an easy baby to manage. He slept through the night with minimal wakings. Matheo however, was a baby with colic. Sleepless nights, late night walks in the pram, screaming, barely any naps. It was though. But, we made it.

When Ezra was 4 and Matheo was 2, our little princess completed our family. Luna was immediately adored by her older brothers. They’ve made it their mission to protect her through life. It’s so adorable to see how much they care and love for her.

The older Ezra and Matheo has gotten, the more they fight. It can be about anything, everything.

Last month, Ezra got a new bike. So, of course Matheo also wanted a bike. He didn’t want to miss out on the fun about having his own bike. So, yesterday I bought one for him. All that’s left now is just teaching him how to ride it.

And of course, we have amazing supporters standing on the pavement, cheering him on. I wave to Luna who’s sitting on your hip, clapping her hands. Ezra is standing with your phone in his hands, ready to start filming.

“Okay Matheo. I’ll run behind you, holding onto the bike until you tell me to let go. Alright?” I assure Matheo. I can sense his nervousness. But I know he’ll do it brilliantly. He slowly starts pedaling and I start walking behind him. As he starts gaining a bit more speed I start running, but I no longer hold onto the bike.

“You’re doing it Theo!” Ezra proudly exclaims as he runs after both of us, camera still in his small hands. I chuckle and stop running to catch my breath.

“Keep pedaling!” I instruct Matheo. I shouldn’t have done that though. He looks back at me, causing him to accidentally steer into a car that’s parked on the road. I inhale sharply and start running to him, where he’s laying on the road. Shit…
