"Tt. Just stay quiet, you ignorant buffoon."
*Jon obliged and quieted down at the other boy's words, knowing that the two needed to be quiet if their mission was going to go well. Plus Damian seemed annoyed that he kept talking, so he figured he ought to stay quiet before Damian snapped at him.
When his dad had first told him he'd be taking on Penguin (To stop the illegal distribution of weaponry to Gotham's gangs), he had been bummed out, to put it simply. He was bored of all of these missions, and while he loved helping people, going on mission after mission against normal human villains that he couldn't even use his powers on grew to be tiring after a while. But then his dad had told him he would have a partner for this mission, he had perked right back up and had been talking non stop ever since about how excited he was.
And that was how he found himself inside a floor grate with Damian Wayne next to him, the newest Robin glowering in annoyance, seeming displeased with Jon's very existence. But Jon didn't really mind, he was used to Damian by now. He was just happy to be here, honestly.
Jon shifted around in the small space under the floor, his super hearing picking up on the soft scuttling of mice and the quiet shifting of the building itself. The place is old and dusty, and clearly hasn't been used in awhile. Jon can't help himself, he starts talking again (though in a quiet whisper), his hands fidgeting with the end of his cape.
"This is so exciting.. I can't wait to show you the new fighting technique I learned!"
His wide blue eyes stare at Damian, who is still shoved right up against him. He's able to see easily in the dark because of his super sight, and he can see the way Damian's sharpened eyes narrow at him through the dim lighting. Jon's super hearing can pick up on Damian's even breathing, and the steady 'Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump.' of the other boy's heartbeat. He can't help feeling giddy being next to one of the world's greatest sidekicks.
