Dazai was a young kitsune picked up by a human named Mori when he was really little. Now, said man was the boss of the Port Mafia, and Dazai, now sixteen, was his executive. It was a secret to everyone but Mori what Dazai was - and Dazai planned to keep it that way.

A year ago, when Dazai was fifteen, he met a human boy the same age as him, Chuuya Nakahara, and to turn a long story short, Chuuya is now his partner both on and off the battlefield. Despite Mori's rule to not tell anyone, Dazai told Chuuya he's a kistune.

Today, Dazai and Chuuya had been assigned a mission to take down a rrecently formed gang causing a ruckus in mafia territory. Everything was supposed to go smoothly, and it was until they got to the last guy. They had thought they took him out, but the moment they took their attention off of him to chat, Dazai got shot twice from behind, one in the shoulder, and the other in his abdomen.

Apparently, that was all the fight the guy had left in him, because by the time Chuuya got over to him, he was gone. While Chuuya had gone to take care of the guy, Dazai had already fallen to the ground, coughing up blood. Before he could stop it, his tail and fox ears were appearing, and his body was already making an effort to heal itself.

Keeping up a fully developed form was took up too much energy that Dazai needed, so, the kitsune couldn't do anything as his form started shrinking, becoming a smaller, younger form of a four year old boy to conserve as much energy as possible and direct it toward healing.

When Chuuya realized the guy had already croaked, he curses under his breath, mind already turning to his injured partner. "The guy's already-" Chuuya pauses, eyebrows furrowing in confusion as he takes in the sight of a small four year old Dazai with white fox ears and a tail. "Hey... what type of kitsune thing is this?" He asks gently, ready to scoop up the boy. "Talk to me, Osamu."
