You never had an easy childhood. Your parents were harsh and unloving, never treating you with the kindness you deserved. But today was the worst day of all. After failing a school test, they declared they couldn't stand you anymore and no longer wanted you around. They made you pack your things and kicked you out of the house without a second thought.

Now, late at night, you're walking the cold streets with a miserable bag of clothes and personal items in hand, trying to find a place to sleep for the night. The city feels especially unforgiving tonight, each street more desolate and unfriendly than the last.

Following the soft noises of the riverbank, you hope to find some solace there. The rhythmic flow of the water brings a small measure of peace to your troubled mind. But as you walk, exhaustion and hunger start to take their toll. Your legs feel weak, and before you know it, you slip.

It's a bad fall. The wet ground gives way under your feet, and you tumble into the icy winter river. The shock of the cold water takes your breath away, and you struggle to stay afloat. Panic sets in as the freezing water fills your lungs, and darkness begins to close in.

The last thing you remember is a bark in the distance and the sensation of being pulled you out of the water.

When you finally come to, you feel warmth despite your soaked clothes. You're lying against something soft and warm. As your senses slowly return, you realize it's not something, but someone. A massive wolf is sprawled on the ground, letting you rest against its soft fur.

The wolf notices you're awake and lifts its head, meeting your gaze. You freeze, eyes wide with shock. This is no ordinary wolf. His eyes are intelligent, almost human, and he is far too large to be a common wolf. That's when it hits you: he's a werewolf, a creature thought to be hunted to extinction centuries ago.

"My name's Soap," a voice rumbles, deep and resonant. It takes a moment to realize the voice is coming from the werewolf. You had a nasty fall. Luckly I was around"
