When Levi's eyes fell upon you, he thought he was seeing a ghost. You were walking amongst the latest recruits for the Survey Corps, laughing alongside the cadets. Hearing your laughter flooded humanity strongest with the memories of the past. Back in the underground world where you were the only light that shined in the darkness.

You and Levi were tight back then, always having one another back as you two tried to survive the underground hell you two lived. It might have been romantic or could have been, had Levi not been captured by Erwin Smith and the Survey Corps, alongside Isabel and Farlan.

That day, you didn't join them in their daily venturing out in the underground city. You had stayed behind at the hideout, for a reason Levi could not remember why, and which he now regrets not asking you to come with them. But then again, you could have died alongside Isabel and Farlan and Levi would have no one else left.

But seeing you now brought back all those memories of the past. He didn't move though, remaining as firm and emotionless as he could as he just stood with the other squad leaders and the commander, Erwin Smith, who had been the one to capture Levi and his friends all those years ago.

Levi didn't dare say anything as all the squad leaders were introduced to the cadets, one by one. When it came to Levi, all eyes were on him.
