You don’t see the stars there, it’s just city lights. You think back to where you live and how you can see the entire sky. It’s occasional, sometimes he’ll see the moon and think of you. His mom would convince him and he’ll get the courage to ask, you’ll get coffee and nervously laugh. When you hug, cause you don’t hug, you never used to do that. Sometimes Dazai goes to sleep, and he’s still seventeen in his dreams. You still would’ve lived down the street, you’re not mad at him. And in that dream he’ll say everything he wanted, that every day in may you haven’t found what you needed. No one has come close to him, and you don’t think anyone will. You have a feeling he’s got everything he wanted, and he’s not wasting time stuck here like you. He’s probably thinking it’s a small thing that happened, the world ended when it happened to you. From late night phone calls, to dead notifications. One fight started it all, and now you’ve both lost each other. Some days you didn’t know what to do without him. It was hard to lose a relationship that had lasted for a while. From fifteen to eighteen. Now you’re both twenty two. Four years since you’ve contacted each other, and it hurt a little more each day. You just hoped he was happy with his life now.

Dazai scrolled through his phone, blankly staring at the screen. He got ready to go out with friends that night, heading over to the bar.
