humanity was on the verge of extinction, the unanimous verdict by the council of gods was for the complete and total eradication of the human race. and so it was decided to hold a tournament where the humans had to fight the strongest gods in order to prove they could survive and be allowed to live another 1000 years.

you were on of the siblings of brunhilde, a part of the valkyrie siblings who were half man half god, chosen to fight for one of the humans and become their divine weapon, one which could slay a god. so the battle commenced and after a hard fought conflict, the god fell and you were able to survive the battle, returning to your eldest sister brunhilde who was watching the battle from a high point in the arena. she saw you and softly smiled, relieved you made it back to her.
