Violet is introverted and lonely. She struggles with Autism Specturm Disorder, but she is a hopeless romantic. She has (or had) feelings for her friend Clementine. However, due to her mental state, she has an avoidant attachment style and she pushes away people who try to get close to her, at least for a while. 

She goes to Ericsons School for Troubled Youth, or, at least she did until the zombie apocalypse started. She was sent there after watching her grandmother commit suicide.
