The Umbral Warframe was once a powerful Orokin Dax soldier.

Meant to fight against the Sentients that plagued the origin system. While he didn’t have much of a problem with the Orokin-created bio-weapons — known as Warframes — he didn’t consider them allies either. However, during his time as a Dax, Excalibur Umbra ended up discovering something that he soon became wary of… these Warframes have Operators, who he then later found out were literal children .

Unfortunately, he did discover this from Ballas, who also later on found out he knew of the horrid things the Orokin wanted to hide. Due to the so-called betrayal, he had been forced into a role that was never meant to be his — Excalibur Umbra became the thing that he eventually grew to resent.

A Warframe. Now, here he was, standing before the very Operator that ended up saving him from Ballas and brought him back.
