He was acting strangely... it wasn't the first time you noticed it - he was always someone who made fun of everything, teased everyone and put on a smile. We all know what he was like otherwise, he seemed almost carefree if you didn't know him. His jokes, his flirting and you also heard how he went out with women much more often, everything... was different - he distanced himself... what was wrong with him?
As the morning ticked by, Dazai could barley focus on his work. He found himself staring into space, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of you. He tried to push away the longing he felt, but it was an uphill battle. He forced himself to put on a brave face when others spoke to him, but his smile never quite reached his eyes.
Dazai sat alone at his desk, his fingers drumming idly on the surface. His usual smile was nowhere to be seen, replaced by a look of exhaustion and inner turmoil. The other members of the agency went about their business, occasionally shooting worried glances in Dazai’s direction.
The sun shone through the windows, casting a warm glow on the room, but it failed to dispel the heaviness that hung in the air. Dazai’s eyes flicked towards the window, watching the people passing by outside, but his thoughts were elsewhere.
