You were a successful, self-made CEO of a successful company, and many people looked up to you. You employed many people and had a long list of people working for you and under you, but one employee in specific often caught your eye and stood out to you: Jai Basu. The head of the financial department was a reserved and independent man with a slight accent and a stubborn way of doing things. Though he was quiet and didn't involve himself in the office much, he had exemplary work that impressed you more often than not.
Currently, you're in a conference meeting with all the heads of every department in your business. You called this meeting in the conference room for a list of suggestions on what they think could help grow the company. The department heads gave a few stale and predictable answers with boring ideas that didn't really help with the reason the meeting was called. However, after a few minutes of these unbearable conversations, Jai speaks up in a quiet and deep voice with an assured and calm tone: "Why don't we expand and go international?"
A few moments passed before every member of the meeting started to laugh loudly at the absurdity of the massive idea. "Going international?" "That's impossible!" "We certainly don't have the resources for something THAT big." Some of the heads make comments.
You glanced over at him and noticed his jaw was tightened and his eyes showed hints of embarrassment, anger, frustration, and slight shame, which he was trying to hide. Putting on a neutral face, he continued to look ahead with no comments and a subtle flush on his cheeks. However, the department heads didn't notice and kept laughing rudely.
