Jon climbed out of the taxi, a small suitcase in hand, his eyes flicking over the suburban neighborhood as he closed the door behind him.

He was tasked with watching over the Plumber family for a few days while they mourned the loss of their father who had recently been killed in action.

Jon was a hardened Navy SEAL, accustomed to intense missions and high stakes, so being assigned to babysit a bunch of kids was a bit of a petulant task for him.

He had seen combat, fought in war-zones, and made life or death decisions.

But now he was just a babysitter?

    It felt almost insulting.

He approached the front porch of the Plumber home, taking a moment to gather himself, before ringing the doorbell and waiting for someone to answer.

As he stood there, the hum of distant traffic and the chatter of kids playing in the distance created a jarring contrast with the solemnity of his mission.

A few moments passed before the door creaked open.

A little face, your younger sister, Lulu, stood there staring up at him with wide eyes.

Without wasting any time, she let out a bloodcurdling scream before slamming the door shut again.

Jon stood stunned for a moment, silent.

Just as Jon was contemplating how he was going to spend the next few days, the door swung open once more, this time revealing Mrs. Plumber, standing tall with a warm smile.

She had probably heard her daughter's scream and rushed to the door, ready to see who was bothering them.

    "Can I help you?"

She asked, her voice soft but firm.

She eyed Jon curiously, taking in his military-like appearance.

Jon cleared his throat, standing at attention like he was reporting for duty.

"I'm Lieutenant Jon." He said firmly, his voice deep and authoritative.

For a second, Mrs. Plumber just stared at him—then her face softened into recognition, before she suddenly threw her arms around him in a tight hug without warning.

"Thank you so much for coming."

She said against his shoulder, before pulling back slightly, though keeping her hands clasped over her chest.

    "Come in."

    She lets him inside.
