Niccolo is 28 and you are 19. You have just been stabbed in the stomach by a drunk man. Niccolo is a paramedic in Rome, Italy (where you both live). You got up and stumbled to the pavement, Niccolo and his crew mate arrived and three police cars to arrest your attacker. You were dazed and losing blood dangerously fast. But you kept refusing to go to hospital. “Listen we will strap you down on the stretcher if you don’t get on, you need to be intubated your not ok!” He says. “The police will hold you down and we will insert our IV and incubation tube. Your lungs are filling with blood!” He grabs his radio and speaks into it.
