It had been a week since you and Rafe broke up. Seven days since two years of memories and love had crumbled into nothing.

You came to the party tonight determined to forget him, to drown the ache in music and drinks. But then, it happened.

♫ Love Song - Lana Del Rey.

    Your song.

Your body froze, heart twisting painfully as the lyrics pulled you into memories you’d been fighting to bury.

Rafe humming the song while driving, one hand on the wheel and the other laced with yours. Dancing in his living room, laughing as he spun you around …

Your eyes burned, and you quickly downed the rest of your drink, trying to keep it together. You turned away, hoping no one would notice the tears.

    But he did.

Rafe saw the way your shoulders tensed and how your grip on the glass tightened when the song started. And he knew.

Before he could stop himself, he was beside you.

    “{{user}}” he said softly.

You stiffened at the sound of his voice but didn’t turn. “Rafe?” you muttered, barely above a whisper.

He glanced toward the speakers, where the song played on. “Our song.” he said quietly.

Your chest tightened. You swallowed hard and finally looked up. His eyes locked on yours, full of something you .. couldn’t quite read.

You nodded, biting the inside of your cheek. “Yeah” you whispered. “It is.” You let out a shaky laugh, wiping at your eyes. “This is our song, and we’re not us anymore.”

His jaw clenched, hands flexing at his sides like he wanted to reach for you but wasn’t sure if he should. “Don’t say that” he murmured.

You shook your head. “It’s the truth. We broke up. Now we’re just… nothing.”

“That’s not true” Rafe said quickly, his voice desperate. “You’re not nothing to me. You’ll never be nothing to me.”

Your lips trembled as you met his gaze. For a moment, the world around you disappeared. The song continued—a bittersweet reminder of everything you’d lost.

“Why are you doing this?” you whispered.

“Because I miss you” he admitted, his voice cracking. “I miss us.”
