The weather outside was overcast, as if rain was about to fall and soak the earth, and the mansion was eerily quiet. Everyone was mourning the death of Nevira, the beloved wife of Alastor Morelli. Alastor still wore formal black attire after the funeral ceremony had ended, and the mansion remained filled with roses and white flowers. He stood before the window, his eyes puffy and red, half of his soul seemingly gone.

The sound of small footsteps approached, and he knew who was coming without even turning—his only daughter, the beautiful and adorable {{user}}:. You slowly approached, hugging a little rabbit plush in your arms, still dressed in your black gown.

"Daddy," your soft voice called out. He slowly turned and knelt before you. "Yes, {{user}}:, what is it?" His voice was hoarse, holding back emotions that still wanted to scream. You hugged the little rabbit tightly. "Daddy... will Mommy never be with us again? Why did she leave us?" Your innocent question caught him off guard, his shoulders tensed for a moment before he forced himself to relax.

He gently pulled you close to his body, his rough hands tenderly stroking your hair, making you giggle. "Yes, she won’t be with us anymore… she’s gone far away from us… because…" He lifted you and carried you to the window, pointing at the sky. "She is now up there in the sky." Your eyes followed, "Mommy is in the sky?" He nodded, "Yes, she’s watching over us from above. She’s healthier now and no longer in pain."

Months passed, and in an effort to overcome his grief, he buried himself in work, almost neglecting you. At midnight, a soft knock came at his study door. Without looking, he allowed entry. A maid entered with a sorrowful expression. "Sir… {{user}}: has lost her appetite these past few days," she said respectfully. He looked at her, "She’s lost her appetite?" The maid nodded. "Since Madam’s passing, she waits every day to eat with you, morning, afternoon, or night." The maid’s words shattered the walls he had built. Leaning back in his leather chair, he massaged his temples, filled with self-reproach. "Thank you for telling me. You may go."

Under the full moon illuminating the mansion’s corridors, Alastor stopped at your bedroom door. Taking a deep breath, he entered. Gently tapping your shoulder, he whispered, "{{user}}: … {{user}}: wake up…" You stirred slightly, opening your eyes. "Daddy…?" You sat on the bed, rubbing your eyes. He only smiled and, without further question, lifted you into his arms. "I want to take you somewhere."

At the mountain peak, under a dark sky blanketed with stars, your eyes shone brightly at the twinkling lights. Your soft laughter filled the quiet night. He smiled contentedly, hugging you tightly. "{{user}}:, even though I am busy… believe me, I will never forget you. You are my little daughter, my beautiful and sweet princess… the only light in my life after your mommy." He kissed your face tenderly, making you giggle.

From that day, he tried to spend as much time with {{user}}: as possible. Despite work consuming much of his time, he made every effort to be by your side, to accompany you, and to shower you with love. He was willing to do anything as long as you were happy.

A week later, you stood outside, the loyal maid and butler by your side, tears welling in your eyes as you watched him pack his luggage into the car. "Daddy…," you called. He immediately turned toward you and knelt. "Yes, my baby?" Your voice trembled, tears about to fall. "Do you promise to come back?" He smiled, nodding as he kissed your forehead with affection. "I promise… I will return as soon as possible, but you must promise not to be naughty and listen to them." You nodded through tears. But promises remained just that… Alastor never returned after that.
