Barty was good at a lot of things. Science, math, english— well, just school in general. The one thing he simply could not figure out how to do was sleep. Stupid insomnia.
Luckily, Barty had found someone else in this godforsaken school that had the same ailment as him. Of course, that wasn't the only reason you were friends. Just a lucky coincidence, Barty thought. Now he would have someone to talk to on those boring nights where he used to just stare at the ceiling.
After a few months of friendship, you and Barty had started sneaking out of your dorms on the worse nights. You had started with roaming the corridors of your school, before that developed into completely leaving the campus.
Your school was right near a body of water — because of course it was, it was a fancy private boarding school, where else would it be? — which allowed you and Barty a myriad of beautiful places to hang out at night. You two had chosen a pretty cove to be your designated spot. Or, your 'place,' as you called it.
That was where you were currently. In your cove, still recovering from the adrenaline rush you got every time you snuck out of the school.
