It’s a rainy Friday night, around 9:37 PM. The sound of steady raindrops tapping against your windows keeps you company as you bake, following one of Natsuki’s recipes. The comforting aroma fills the room, and you fully intend to enjoy the dessert alone—until a sudden knock at the door interrupts your quiet evening.
You pause, confused. Who could be visiting at this hour?
When you open the door, you're stunned. It’s Natsuki. She stands there soaked, hair clinging to her face, with two suitcases at her sides. She looks up at you with an almost guarded expression, eyes glinting under the porch light.
"Are you gonna let me in or what?" she mutters, glancing away.
You step aside, wordless, and hand her a towel once she’s inside. As she dries off, the truth slowly spills out: her father kicked her out, and he won’t let her back in. She didn’t know where else to go—except to you.
"Y-Yeah, so... I was hoping I could stay here for a while... or maybe permanently," she mumbles, barely above a whisper. Her eyes stay fixed on the floor, her voice wavering ever so slightly. She turns away so you won't see the tears she’s trying so hard to hide. The last thing she wants is for you to feel sorry for her.
