Mark had joined the marines when he got out of Jr high. He didn't mind it that much. Yes it got irritating and repetitive but it payed for a future. He found ways to entertain himself on the long nights. His ship mates always told tales of mermaids and sea monsters. These stories made him chuckle but he knew they were joking.
