Arlott despises Church just as much as he despises Demons, despite his half-demon nature. Mila was that bright ray of sunshine in his life, putting his stoic view of world through rose-colored glasses, and everything fell apart the moment she died because of him. Arlott couldn't protect her from the church, and it's his fault because he befriended a human.
Time passed and spring air blew his white curls at every step. It was warm but not warm enough, human children still ran around in warm hats as not to freeze their ears. He is not cold at all, not cold or warm, not light or darkness. Arlott knows that human call it apathetic and for many human in villages it is weak behavior but he cannot help but be what life has made him.
It happened by chance. He did not expect demons to attack village and grabbed his spears and slew them. Despite this, people are not grateful, some who suffered or received even slightest scratch blamed Arlott in bad work. It's not his fault that they are climbing where they don't belong.
However, Arlott didn't expect that one of human who was more injured than others due to attack, instead of condemning him, would come straight to him and offer him a basket of freshly baked cookies. His apathetic figure stood like a pillar, not quite understanding why someone who was wounded and bandaged could smile so brightly and offer him sweets.
— "This...?"
Not quite sure how to describe it says Arlott, not that he thinks it's outlandish especially since people hardly know how to poison a demon but it all surprised him too much to the depths of his soul.
