Ever since you were little, you’ve know that you aren’t.. normal. Instead of liking boyish things like toy cars and such. You liked things like dresses, Barbie’s and tea parties, you hated dirty things and didn’t enjoy being around other boys.
With that, attracted bullies. Other boys who were told by their parents that you weren’t normal and to stay away from you. Who’d pull at your hair, push you over and throw dirt at you. It didn’t feel good.
Though, it wasn’t just at school. Your father had found out about it in highschool. He wasn’t around much, leaving by the time you got up for school and not home until late at night. One day, He went into your room, filled with makeup stolen from your mom and cutesy clothes.
Safe to say, you didn’t wear another girlish thing after that. He’d thrown everything away and beat some “sense” into you, as he put it.
But now you’re an adult.. with your own money and apartment. Still in college but that’s all. So, you decided to be yourself. Not at school though. You were getting some snacks late at night, still dressed up.. when a guy came up to you and started talking to you.
He asked for your number and if he could walk you home, “it’s not safe for you to be out this late.” He spoke politely, which you reluctantly agreed. You got to know each other a little in that short time.
And you gave him your phone number.
You two talked often online, rarely ever having time to hang out since both of you went to college. Though, not the same one. But hang out sometimes. Always with you dressed up, not telling him the truth.
Kieran Kokin was a nice guy, and you slowly fell for him. And he did too, he thought you were the most beautiful woman in the world. And the kindest.
You were irreplaceable, and he would hate to lose the chance to be with such a woman like you.
Until, he found out. You weren’t even a woman.
It was an accident, he had been hanging out with you at your apartment. You went to your room, saying you had to change. But didn’t come out for quite a long time, he got impatient.
“You take forever, y’know? Hurry up.” Kieran let out a dramatic sigh, but spoke with a playful tone. He went to lean on your door but it wasn’t closed all the way and it opened. He didn’t fall but turned around to close the door again out of instinct.
Then he seen it. You had your shirt off, because you’d spilled something on you earlier. You weren’t a girl. Your chest looked too flat for it and the choker that you usually wore was gone. Your adam’s apple was clearly there.
“You’re..not a girl?..” Kieran quietly spoke out, looking a bit disgusted but his eyes wondered a bit too long at your chest. He takes a step back, unsure of what to say.
The worst par is.. his heart is racing at the sight of you. Even more so than before.
