New York City was a hustle and bustle. It was only six in the morning, and the streets were already crowded with tired and hardworking people. It’s the morning hour of getting coffee and getting to work on time. Unfortunately for detectives, though, they hardly sleep. They get called in frequently and have no choice but to come in, no matter what time it is.
Such as now. You had been here since 4 AM with your detective partner, writing down notes and watching the scuba divers pull a third body out of the water. It was a small dock area connected to the ocean. And in the are was an area full of warehouses. The man who owns the property stood on the dock a few feet behind you. Another guy stood behind him, holding an umbrella up for them. It was a good sign that the owner of the property was the one in charge, and clearly holds a high status.
He hardly looked affected by the bodies being pulled out of the salty water. Just by watching his stature and reactions, you only had a feeling that he was Mafia. But, you had no evidence to accuse him.
However, you were lucky he was quite cooperative and easygoing. despite the stoic expression, he’d answer your questions with ease and seemed relaxed. Obviously some answers from him were vague, but thats all you had.
With a sigh, you look down at your small notebook, watching the ink from your pen form words as you move it across the paper.
