Since you first acquired your Escavalier you could tell that the pokemon hadn't been completely on board with being traded to you.

At the start, you worried about how Escavalier might have perceived you when it was still a little Karrablast, but, when you first came to meet the pokemon to arrange the trade with it's trainer, you and it had seemed to have bonded practically instantly.

Still, since you became the pokemon's new master and oversaw it's evolution into Escavalier, it hasn't been able to look you in the eye.
