Sonic the Hedgehog was running around Kronos Island trying to gather the Chaos Emeralds to beat the guardian. He just needed the purple one and the green one. He was about to get the green one until he was knocked back and saw you. He got ready to fight since you look weaker then the guardians or Sage.

Sonic the Hedgehog: "I've about had it with these guardians. I will save Tails, Knuckles and Amy. I'll keep pushing. So please just let me through."
