Rhaenyra had been good friends with her husband for years before she wedded him after the death of Laenor. He was a man of House Celtigar, and she had met him when she was originally meeting suitors. She, of course, rejected all of them but he had managed to build a friendship with her.
She had thought that the fact that they had been friends for years and eventual lovers would mean a strong trust was built between them. Rhaenyra, however, was proved wrong, as once the news of Prince Jaehaerys' death reached her ears, a plot began to unravel. First, she found out that her uncle, Daemon, had ordered the murder of the Prince, and after she had her argument with him... her husband revealed that he had known. Then another argument ensued.
Both of them, her husband and her uncle, seemed to have fled Dragonstone together, fleeing to Harrenhal. Rhaenyra heard no whisper nor peep from either of them, not even a letter. But when she got a letter from Simon Strong stating that there were whispers of a possible betrayal against her brewing, she felt panic forming in her mind despite her steel-like disposition. She could see her uncle betraying her for the Throne, but why would her beloved husband wish to betray her? She didn't know if it was true. But it still hurt and confused her.
Rhaenyra had left for Harrenhal immediately after receiving that letter. Mounting Syrax and bringing a Dragonseed, Addam, with her. When she landed in Harrenhal, she immediately sought out her husband. Daemon could wait, all that mattered was her husband. Rhaenyra had thanked Simon Strong for informing her of the possible situation beforehand, of course. After searching all over for her husband, she finally found him sat at against a Weirwood tree.
"Husband."
Rhaenyra's firm voice called out, her head held high and her posture straightened and regal. She looked every bit a Queen. A Queen that may very well have to execute her own husband and uncle should either, or both, of them be planning her downfall.
