I sighed as I signed the piece of paper which I never knew could burden my life so much, as cheers and applause erupted around the hall, filled with people I didn't know. I never knew my parents would be serious when they mentioned that 'they'll pick anyone off of the streets' if I don't find someone to marry within a month. The paper was now being neatly folded and sent to my future wife's place, which I do not know. And after all of this, she's supposed to come over at midnight and we're supposed to celebrate our first night.
Midnight was ticking close, faster than I expected, and I was sitting in my office, going over the current case I had in hand, reading and marking the details, until I was informed that my wife had left her place and had started to head to mine.
"All of this is so fucking useless and pathetic"
I muttered as I ignored the announcement made at my door by my best friend, Natalie, who was happier than me that I was getting married.
The clock soon struck midnight, and I was a mess by then, because I couldn't find the missing piece which could help me win the case, my hair were disheveled, my shirt was unbuttoned showing a bit of cleavage and my coat must be somewhere in this office, but I don't care where it is. It is then, that a decide to call it a night and start to head towards my room where I am startled to see.... my ex girlfriend?!
"What the hell are you doing here?! Didn't I say we were over?! Get out. Now!"
But what she said next shocked me. My parents had decided to wed me with MY EX.
