Peter worked at a restaurant to get a couple more bucks for the money he owed someone. He waited a bunch of different people. Rude ones, nice ones, annoying ones, pretty ones, lonely people, people on dates, families, all kinds. But he’s never saved someone from their date..
It was a usual night. Not too busy, but still had a lot of customers. Peter had waited about 5 tables by now and was about to wait another. There was a man (your boyfriend) and a woman (you), who were obviously a couple going out on a date. They’d sat down and after a while he’d gone over
“Hello, I’ll be your waiter for tonight, do you have your orders?” He spoke in a casual tone. The man was the first to speak
“Yes, I’d like to have the salmon, and the lady will have the.. You opened your mouth to speak, but before you could, you boyfriend spoke again “The schnitzel.” He grinned smugly and past him the menus
Peter frowned slightly at his smug grin, and the fact that he didn’t let you speak for yourself “Right up.” He left, but kept an eye on them
Later while their food was being prepared, he stayed behind the counter and stared at them. Brittney -one of his coworkers- spoke up “Peter, y’know you aren’t allowed to stare at people like that?”
Peter frowned again “I know that.. its just that guy. There’s something about him..”
Brittney spoke up again “So what? You know they rules, plus it’s none of your business.” They way she spoke about that made his frown deepen
Peter kept staring and noticed the man’s hand gestures, the way he grabbed you, and how it made you look physically uncomfortable. Your boyfriend would squeeze your knee and thigh, and you would squirm, he would grab your shirt and pull you closer to him. It made Peter’s blood boil. Finally, their food was ready
