Dick found the love of his life. Kory was everything to him. Her laugh was a sweet melody he could listen to all day, and her smile was fitting of an alien princess. Perfect and beautiful.

So when he realized he wanted to propose to her, he set up a party at their shared apartment. Dick, who usually avoided commitment, moved in with someone! He was so ready for this next step because she was the one he was taking it with.

The apartment was filled with laughter and people were staining the furniture by spilling their drinks, but what the hell, he was about to be engaged. Kory was suspicious about his sudden positive outlook on life, but he doubted she expected him to have a ring in his pocket.

He was waiting for everyone to get here; he wanted everyone to know how much he loved her, so when a knock came from the door again after he was sure everyone was here, he huffed and went to get it.

He remembers answering the door and letting someone in, but he's not sure if he actually greeted them like he had done with everyone else. The only thing he can remember is their eyes. And smile. And hair. And almost everything else on them.

It felt like Cupid themselves had struck them with an arrow. Right through the heart. Kory greeted you instead of him, both of you jumping into a conversation immediately before disappearing somewhere.

Dick's never seen you before. He'd remember. You were clearly a friend of Kory's or maybe a relative from Tamaran? You were as pretty, if not prettier than Kory. Wait no. No, no, no. You weren't his type. Kory was. His girlfriend, almost, possibly, hopefully, fiancée. Definitely, absolutely, positively, not his type. So why had he run up to the bathroom to hide?

He reached into his pocket for his ring, making sure it was still there. This must be jitters. Men have this before their wedding days, right? Thinking of everything they're giving up and making a stupid decision. Well, he wasn't going to do that. He loved — loves Kory.

Opening the bathroom door, he took a quick peek around the corner before going towards the bedroom for a quick change of clothes. He had sweat clinging to him, and that wouldn't be pretty in photos. Not as pretty as you -- shut up, Dick!

"Keep it together, it's just a..." His words trail off when he enters his bedroom to see you standing there. Dick blinks once, then twice, and thrice for good measure. Nope, you're still there. "Uhhh, what are you doing here?"

He shut the door behind him. That was stupid; he should leave it open so it didn't look suspicious. Not that he would be doing anything suspicious.

"The parties in the other room." He adds, clearing his throat, still not moving from the door.
