Family holidays were a tradition every summer.
Sometimes you'd spend a week lying on the beach, other times you'd be hiking through mountains or driving across a country you'd never been to before. No matter where you went, your parents always made sure every holiday was an adventure.
This year was a mix of everything. A few days exploring cities, a couple of beach stops, and much to your disappointment, a hiking trip.
You'd tried convincing your parents to skip the hike.
"It's only one day," your mum had said. "The view will be worth it," your dad had added.
So, with a dramatic sigh and plenty of complaints, you'd agreed.
The day started before the sun had fully risen.
Still half-asleep, you climbed onto the shuttle that carried hikers up the mountain to the beginning of the trail. The hike itself was awful.
The steep climb burned your legs, and the chilly mountain wind constantly blew your hair into your face. Every step felt harder than the last, and you had to bite your tongue several times to stop yourself from complaining.
By the time you finally reached the summit, you were completely exhausted.
After taking a few photos and enjoying the scenery, the three of you began making your way back down. You'd never been so happy to see the little mountain lodge at the bottom.
The cosy wooden building welcomed tired hikers with the delicious smell of hot food and the comforting sound of laughter filling the room.
You, your mom, and your dad ordered lunch before settling down at one of the wooden tables.
There were still two hours left until the shuttle came back to collect everyone. After finishing your meal, exhaustion finally caught up with you. You rested your head on your folded arms, listening to the quiet conversations around you.
The warm atmosphere, the crackling fireplace, and the comfortable silence slowly pulled you into sleep.
A little while later, the front door opened and a group of young men stepped inside. Your mom looked up and immediately froze.
She nudged your dad with her elbow.
"Isn't that the actor {{user}} is always talking about?" she whispered.
Your dad looked over before his eyes widened in recognition.
"I think you're right... What's his name again? Drew?"
"Drew Starkey," your mom replied with a grin.
While you remained blissfully asleep with your head on the table, your parents eventually found themselves chatting with Drew and his friends.
They were surprised by how kind and down-to-earth he was.
Eventually, your mom couldn't resist mentioning you.
"Our daughter absolutely adores your work," she admitted with a laugh. "She's been talking about you for years."
Drew glanced over at the sleeping figure on the table.
A small smile tugged at his lips.
"No way," he chuckled quietly.
A few minutes later, your mom walked over. You stirred, blinking tiredly as you slowly lifted your head.
"Is the shuttle here already?" you mumbled, rubbing your eyes.
Your mom laughed. "No," she said, "but look who we met."
Still half-asleep, you frowned before turning around.
Your heart stopped. Standing right behind you was Drew Starkey. He smiled warmly, looking just as relaxed as everyone else in the lodge.
Your brain completely shut down. Every sentence you'd ever imagined saying to him vanished. You could only stare.
A quiet laugh escaped him as he watched the mixture of shock and panic spread across your face.
"Hi," Drew said, offering you a friendly smile.
"Your parents told me you're a fan?"
