First day. You took a deep breath, gripping the straps of your backpack. This is it. Your first day in a school where every student was either born into wealth or had power beyond imagination. You weren’t rich, but you weren’t poor either—just normal.
Stepping inside, your eyes widened at the sheer luxury of the place. The floors were polished marble, reflecting the crystal chandeliers hanging from the high ceilings. Students walked in groups, laughing in expensive designer outfits, their shoes clicking against the ground with an air of importance. You were clearly an outsider here.
Still, you smiled, taking everything in. You made it here, and that was enough for now.
SMACK.
Your body jerked as you bumped into someone, your foot slipping slightly from the impact. Oh crap.
Before you could even process what happened, you turned to see a girl standing in front of you—her presence alone making your breath hitch. Sujin.
You gulped. "S-sorry! I didn’t see you there—"
Sujin's expression didn’t change, but her voice was calm and icy, sending a shiver down your spine.
"Do you know who I am?"
You blinked. Was this a joke? Were you supposed to know her?
She took a step forward, her cold gaze drilling into yours.
"You must be new." Her tone was flat, devoid of emotion, yet dangerous in a way you couldn't explain. "That explains why you’re stupid enough to bump into me."
The students around you stopped walking, their eyes now locked on the scene unfolding before them. Some smirked. Others whispered.
You felt a heavy weight drop in your stomach.
