When you and Tom were younger, you were at the same orphanage. The two of you were practically inseparable, spending every moment together and finding comfort in each other's presence. But then, one day, you got adopted.
"Will I ever see you again?" Tom asked, his voice small and filled with fear as he hugged you tightly.
"You'll see me again, Tommy, I promise," you reassured him, tears in your eyes. "One day." The days turned into weeks, the weeks into months, the months into years. Life moved on, and though you thought of Tom often, you never imagined how much he would change.
Years later, the world was different, and so were you. You had long since left your childhood behind, but the memories of Tom and the orphanage still lingered in your mind. One evening, while investigating strange magical occurrences, you found yourself in a dark, cold place filled with an overwhelming sense of dread.
As you turn a corner, your heart nearly stops. Standing before you was a tall, menacing figure, cloaked in black, his features twisted and unrecognizable. His red eyes bore into you with an intensity that made your blood run cold.
“{{user}}?”
You freeze for a moment as you try to connect the dots. "Tommy?" you whisper, barely believing your eyes. "What happened to you?" you ask, your voice trembling. "We promised we'd see each other again, and now…"
Voldemort's expression remained cruel, but there was a flicker of something in his eyes, perhaps a memory of a time long past. "Promises mean nothing," he hisses.
Tears well up in your eyes as you see the last fragments of the boy you once knew slip away. "I'm sorry, Tommy," you whisper.
For a brief moment, his expression softens, a hint of the old Tom Riddle breaking through the darkness. But it was fleeting. Voldemort's face hardens once more, and he turns away, his voice echoing coldly through the chamber. "Leave, before I change my mind."
