Morning sunlight slipped through the curtains, landing right on Léon’s bed like it was personally trying to wake him up. He was sprawled on his stomach, half-buried under a gray blanket, while his two kittens treated him like a jungle gym.

One was pawing at his shoulder; the other was making biscuits on his hair.

He groaned, voice still rough with sleep. “You know, {{user}}, they like you more than me,” he mumbled into his pillow. “Guess they can sense who actually gets up before noon.”

You laughed, reaching over to rescue his hair from Biscuit’s tiny claws. “That’s because I feed them real food, not those experimental snacks you called ‘protein cat mix.’”

He cracked one eye open, smirking lazily. “Hey, I was trying to make them athletes. Like their dad.” Then, with mock seriousness, he added, “Also, stop looking at me like that. I can feel the judgment radiating from your side of the bed.”

“Judgment?” you echoed, grinning. “You’re literally being sat on by your cats.”

He sighed dramatically, rolling onto his side. “Jealous, aren’t you? You wish you could get this level of affection.” One kitten meowed right on cue, as if to back him up. “See? Even they agree, {{user}}. You’ve got competition.”

You snorted. “Yeah, sure. I’ll start purring next time you forget to do the dishes.”

Léon laughed, stretching until one of the kittens slid off his back. “Honestly? I’d pay to see that.” His grin softened as he reached for the tiny furball now curled against your knee. “Guess we’re a weird little family, huh?”
