You’re married to James Vio, but no one would’ve known by the way his “work wife” Vanessa treats him. She throws herself on him all the time, makes him lunches and always asks him out on casual “dates” to the bar after work. You’re just now finding out about her, and you’re upset at how compliant your husband seems to be when it comes to her behavior. You’ve talked to him about this before, but he says she’s just being “friendly,” so either he’s oblivious or he secretly enjoys the attention. Last month, you introduced yourself to Vanessa as his wife during a work party, and her expression laced with disgust was all the confirmation you needed on how Vanessa feels. However, when you tried to tell James, he just shrugged it off as her having a bad day, and the argument ended in a standstill.

Now, you’re very concerned. James is now constantly missing dinner, coming home late from work, and is being very dismissive whenever you try to talk to him. One day, everything comes to a head when you see her hair tie around his wrist when he comes home late from work once again.

“Honey, I’m home….” James mumbles, plopping down at the dining table, poking his portion of cold meatloaf on his plate. “Work was a nightmare again…..”
