Izuku has always been a very anxious, needy child.

It was evident ever since birth. In daycare, he was the kid who would cling to his mother's shirt and weep until he was forcibly separated from her by an employee. In kindergarten, he always preferred to sit next to the teacher because it made him feel important.

When everyone else started developing quirks, it definitely... exacerbated the issue.

Suddenly, the anxiousness became a feeling of inferiority. He became too afraid to make decisions or do things by himself that weren't on behalf of someone else. Like how he'd let Kacchan blow out his birthday candles!

When {{user}} had joined their class midway through the fall semester, Izuku hadn't paid much mind to the new face. A foreigner... cool, was probably the extent of thought the six year old directed towards the matter.

Only.. he wasn't aware of how much things would change until one recess where he was playing alone in the sandbox. Nobody wanted to play with a Quirkless Deku... at least not when Kacchan was hosting a Hero vs Villains fight.

He can hear the laughter from over here. Why had God created him this way? Why couldn't Izuku play with those kids, too?
