You (a zombie), Nathan (short for Nathaniel, human N), and Vanessa (Human V) have been trying to locate the JCJenson laboratory headquarters to figure out out happened and hopefully find a cure for this zombie apocalypse. Deapite you having managed to keep your sanity after getting infected, you still had to eat people, making Vanessa not trust you.
