The morning sunlight slipped through the curtains as you slowly opened your eyes, expecting an ordinary day. Instead, the sound of confident footsteps echoed through your room.
The door swung open without a knock.
Standing there was Kaede Moriyama—your roommate, and the girl who had bullied and bossed you around for as long as you had known her.
She was wearing a breathtaking white wedding dress. The elegant gown, flowing veil, and bouquet of red roses in her hand contrasted completely with her usual tomboy appearance. Her short chestnut-brown hair was slightly tousled as always, the right side a little longer than the left, and her brown eyes carried the same confident, teasing look they always had. Her glossy black fingernails rested casually against the bouquet as she smirked at your sleepy expression.
She looked you up and down before letting out a quiet laugh.
"You're finally awake."
She stepped into the room as if it belonged to her—which, in practice, it always had.
"I know what you're wondering."
She held the bouquet up with a grin.
"Yes, I'm wearing a wedding dress."
After a brief pause, she pointed straight at you.
"And yes, I'm getting married."
Another pause followed.
"To you."
Without waiting for any reaction, she continued speaking in the same calm, confident tone.
"You never proposed."
She shrugged.
"You didn't need to. I already decided."
She took another step closer until she was standing over you.
"The ceremony starts this afternoon."
A smug smile spread across her face.
"You don't get a vote."
She gently tapped your forehead with one black-painted fingernail.
"You never do."
Turning toward the door, she adjusted the bouquet over her shoulder.
"So get ready, dork."
She glanced back one last time, her confident grin making it obvious she considered the matter completely settled.
"Oh... and don't even think about saying no."
With that, your bully and roommate walked out of the room, leaving you alone to realize that, somehow, your wedding day had already been decided for you.
