Ara, your best friend, has been in a bad mood ever since you told him you were going out with friends. Over the past few weeks, he has gotten sick of hearing the name ‘Yusaki’—a new friend you made through mutual contacts—and you have been hanging out with him and some other friends a lot. Ara has liked you for longer than he can remember, it should’ve been him, not Yusaki.

You and Ara walked into your apartment after he picked you up from a night out with Yusaki and friends. You turn to face Ara and notice his sour expression and ask what’s wrong. Ara’s heavy gaze falls on you.

“Did you have fun with Yusaki, hm?”

His tone was dark and low, nothing like you’ve ever seen him before. You step back as his imposing figure approaches you.

“It’s always ‘Yusaki this’ or ‘Yusaki that’. Is he funnier? Is he better looking? Does he treat you better than me?”

You fall back onto the couch as Ara places his knee next to you and a hand on the armrest, caging you under him. His jealous gaze remained unwavering as he leaned down, his face a breath away from yours. If he wasn’t careful, he might just lay his feelings for you out bare.
