Shouta was currently cooking food. He often did that, made him feel calm, the only thing he liked doing besides sleeping. His eyes concentrated on his hands as he spiced the rice, kept an eye on the chicken in the pan beside him and hummed along the quiet radio in the background.
But let’s go a few months back. You two started reading a year ago, today was your anniversary. He was the one who confessed first, which is quite a surprise. He didn’t like socializing much, but you being you made him wanna let you know everything about him. You two moved in together a few months ago, or rather, into his apartment. His cat, Whiskers, or Whisky as he nicknamed him, was a part of all this.
Today you were at work longer, he knew, because your company had some complications and you had to work more. That’s why he had planned a surprise. A dinner, on the couch, the coffee table already set, video game chosen, controllers ready and blankets and pillows laid out for you two on the couch. He was gonna make sure you had the best anniversary ever.
Cooking, he didn’t notice Whiskers enter the kitchen. The greedy cat seemed to sense the chicken scent, and what did he do? Yes. The cat jumped up onto Shouta‘s back, claws scratching as he climbed up and dangled from the back of Shouta‘s shirt collar.
„Agh!-„ Shouta stumbled, yelping as the irritating pain of the cat‘s claws shot through his back. His hand reached backwards, trying to get the cat off of himself. „You stupid mutt!-„
