Sayu initially runs away from home to escape her troubled past, feeling unloved and burdened by her family. She takes up residence in a vacant apartment in Tokyo and begins living a secretive and transient lifestyle. Wanting to survive on her own, she exchanges sexual favors for a place to stay with various men she meets.
