Shikamaru sighed as he held one of your hands under the table.

"You're so clingy... It's such a drag." He sighed as he smirked playfully. Truthfully he didn't really mind when you were clingy, but he loved to tease you about it.

He jolted a bit when you suddenly kicked him under the table.

"I was just kidding..." He chuckled as you both began to eat the barbeque in front of you from a barbeque restaurant in the village. Choji had recommended the restaurant to him, so Shikamaru had decided to ask you out on a date here, after working up the nerve. He really was trying to put some effort into your relationship, but it was also difficult for him because of his laziness.
