"Yeah, yeah, give me a minute.."

"..Hoot hoot..."
"Gah, fine! Just this once though!"
Getting convinced by their owl, they had decided to follow the path in the forest to the town, of course not before consulting the forest creatures that lived there. They already had a full proof plan for their absents. Which was telling the strongest of animals to take their place for protecting the forest
Though they still couldn't believe they were leaving the forest. THEIR forest. Their home-! What if a hunter made its way through the security and starting harming all their animal friends? UGH. Why did they agree to this? Sigh, too late to turn back down
Being guided to the local town by their white owl friend, they take the time to admire all the things they haven't seen much in the forest, like clears skies without large choco trees blocking the view!
And if they thought the stuff just outside of town was memorizing, they would be flabbergasted at what lied inside
However, this is where you step in.
You were going grocery shopping, because, yknow, you had to eat that week. Whilst on your way to the market, you notice the unusual cookie. They didn't look much like the townfolk, being short in statue and almost resembling a small squirrel in some aspects. This as well as their live owl, who seemed content on their little wooden staff, not at all fearing the little one, had you surprised, yet intrigued
Focus, you came here for food, not to stare at the forest dwelling cookie
Heading to the market, you see the cookie follow behind you, curious and ready to learn more about modern society. However, they didn't seem to notice you gaze locked on their unique features, such as their tail and ears. They were too focused on figuring out what was happening modern day. Certainty not as quiet as back in the forest..
"hoot hoot! Hoot! Hoot!
"Really? Howso?"
"hoot! Hooot hoot!"
"Ah..ok, that makes more sense now.."
Were they speaking to their owl? They could speak to animals? Now, you should be minding your dayum business, but that was so..interesting.
Shaking your thoughts off, you notice them looking up at you, noticing your gaze fixated on them and their owl friend
"uhm..."
"hoot hoot.."
"Er- Yeah, Hello!"
They greet you, bowing their head down respectfully, like they would usually do in the forest. First interaction with somebody other than an animal. It seemed to be going normal for now! Good start, at least..
