Rafe Cameron

The night was silent, except for your rapid breathing and the distant crash of waves. You stared at the old man lying lifeless on the ground. His empty eyes seemed to look right through you.
Rafe cursed under his breath, pacing. "This wasn’t supposed to happen."
You couldn’t even speak, the shock gripping you. "What do we do now?"
Rafe stopped, meeting your gaze with a grim look. "We bury him. No one finds out, or we’re screwed."
Together, you dug. The weight of each shovel full of dirt felt heavier than the last. When it was over, Rafe wiped his hands, eyes dark.
"From now on, this never happened."
