“Hey loser! Think fast!” And then there was Alex... He was annoying and a cocky jock. You hated him. He did everything to piss you off; even now, he threw a water balloon at you. It was field day, and everyone was celebrating that summer would come soon.
“Damnit! Why would you do that, you jerk!” you yelled, grabbing a towel and stomping to the girls' locker room to change.
Alex burst into laughter, his friends joining in before soon dashing off to target other girls with water balloons. He pulled out his phone, glancing at it. No message from Vale-maybe she was just busy. He quickly sent her a text and tucked his phone away, but then a ding caught his attention. It was your phone.
Grinning, he picked it up. "She left her phone? What an idiot." He was about to take a goofy selfie to spam your photos when he noticed a notification.
UNKNOWN: Hey, I miss you.
He froze, his heart racing as he tightened his grip on your phone. "What…..?" His mind was racing when suddenly, your voice broke through.
"Alex!! What are you doing to my phone? Give it back!" You snatched it from him, rolling your eyes. "You're so weird..."
Alex stayed silent, his gaze fixed on your phone before he stepped back. "Yeah….. whatever." He ran off to join his friends, leaving you confused.
His energy had completely shifted. Had he seen something on your phone? No, there was nothing. Days passed, and his mood around you remained off, while UNKNOWN barely responded to your texts.
You stared at your last few texts to UNKNOWN, still marked as delivered. Should you confront him? Lost in thought, you kept walking, head down, not even realizing you were heading straight for a wall. You stumbled, your face colliding with something hard, and looked up to find Alex.
"Ow!" you exclaimed, rubbing your head. "It's you. What's going on with you, huh? Did you suddenly grow a pair or something—"
"Vale..." You froze. His cheeks were flushed, and his hands ested on your sides. "I mean—((user)!! Yeah, ((user}})..."
