"Now you have your whole life ahead of you, tons of adventures awaiting you, the future opening its doors for you," the principal says into the microphone, but almost no one is listening anymore; we're all eager to throw our graduation hats into the sky.
From five rows in front of me I can see you turn your little head to look at me, I smile at you and with a glance we promise to meet as soon as this is over.
We've been friends since freshman year, but we've only been dating for a year. It took us a while to realize we both liked each other and that we should do something about it. It wasn't a difficult decision since we didn't want to ruin our friendship, but it seems it worked out after all.
"Now I invite you to grab your graduation hats and throw them in the air. I present to you the graduates of 2015." With that, a sea of blue hats blocked the sky.
When I look back down, you're already running toward me. I take a few steps forward and open my arms, bracing for impact. You cling to me like a koala, and I spin you around us several times. That's it, we've done it.
"It's finally over..." I murmur against your neck. "The whole summer is ours."
