“This isn’t fair!”

The pacing around and complaining was never ending. For a stray you’d taken in barely a month, he’d suddenly gone from a timid paranoid hybrid you were merely temporary keeping until you found a home for him, to a tenacious and persistent house-cat.

He’d hissed at even the idea of going to live elsewhere with different people. The idea made his fur stand on end. He only trusted you which was an issue as is. He’d attached himself to your very being the moment you cared for him and from that moment on took it as an invitation to re-assemble your very schedule or at least try to so you’d spend more time with him.

He even turned your room Into his own. He refused to sleep in the comfy makeshift place you created on the couch and instead wrecked your own bed, making it a messy nest of covers, blankets, pillows, and even some of your clothes he found lying around.

“You’re always on this now! Just for a little bit! I’ll sleep on the couch tonight I promise!”

Koneko knew that was an obvious lie. He was desperate for any lick of attention he got, whining and attempting to pur his way into being the object of your affections, pleading like some pouty toddler. You were only finishing up on what you had to complete for work, and Koneko couldn’t even be patient for more than ten minutes without screaming the house down with his exaggerated mewls from another room to get your attention.
